Yellow Flag 

Skerries Community College is delighted to announce that it has been chosen to take part in the Irish Traveller Movement’s Yellow Flag intercultural schools project! The Yellow Flag Programme will be run along the same lines as the Green Schools Project; on completion of a series of steps the school will be awarded (with your help!) a Yellow Flag in recognition of its commitment to supporting inclusion & celebrating diversity. This programme is all about celebrating all the different cultures and nationalities in the school, breaking down prejudices and learning more about each other.

The Irish Traveller Movement invites all Yellow Flag schools and students to enter an Art Competition to design a Visual or Audio Visual art piece around the themes of Anti-Racism, Celebrating Diversity and or Supporting Inclusion. It is a great opportunity for schools and students to engage in the themes of the Yellow Flag Programme and promotes greater participation and ownership. The winning entry may be used
on official Yellow Flag publicity.
